Salary: $117,950 – $159,432 per year (minimum for new state employees)
We are seeking a licensed clinical or counseling psychologist with a doctorate and at least two (2) years of post‑doctoral experience to serve as a Supervising Psychologist 1 within the Department of Correction’s behavioral health clinical leadership team. This role will fill two first‑shift vacancies—one in East Lyme and one in Montville—with potential future openings at additional facilities.

- Shift: first shift, full‑time, 40 hours per week (7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday)
- Locations:
York Correctional Institution (East Lyme, CT) or Corrigan Correctional Center (Montville, CT) - Hazardous Duty: 3.5‑week training at the Maloney Center, Cheshire, CT
Supervising psychologists work within a multidisciplinary team of social workers, psychiatrists, APRNs, medical personnel, and custody staff to provide high‑quality, service‑oriented care to incarcerated populations.
Duties- Administrative Management: manage staff scheduling and coverage
- Clinical Leadership: provide supervision and lead multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Clinical Healthcare: conduct psychological testing, deliver individual psychotherapy, and implement behavior management strategies
- Consultative Services: offer clinical consultation for complex cases and collaborate with external support services and research‑driven programming
- A doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology
- At least two (2) years of post‑doctoral experience as a licensed clinical psychologist
- License to practice psychology in Connecticut
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to diagnose, develop treatment plans, conduct psychotherapy, and manage research programs
- Experience in forensic or justice‑involved settings (preferred)
- Supervisory experience with psychologists or licensed mental health professionals (preferred)
- Experience in a bargaining‑unit workplace (preferred)
- Must possess and maintain eligibility for federal health care programs under 42 U.S.C. § 1320a‑7b(f)
- Fluency in a foreign language or proficiency in American Sign Language may be required
- Requirement to travel may apply
