Responsibilities
- Answer questions and advise customers in selecting building materials and supplies.
- Cut lumber and related materials to the sizes requested by customers.
- Assist customers in loading purchased materials into their vehicles.
- Mark prices on merchandise or price stickers according to pricing guides.
- Straighten materials on display to maintain safe and orderly conditions in sales areas.
- Cover exposed materials, when required, to prevent weather damage.
- Count materials and record totals on inventory sheets.
- Participate in special projects as necessary.
- Entry-level position; heavier lifting required.
- Knowledge of building materials helpful.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Availability to work weekends.
Expected salary range: $17.00 - $20.00 (CT transparency). Compensation based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
