B.E.S.T. is owned and operated by Dr. Tomrul Tuzel, a board-certified psychiatrist, and supported by a team of licensed professionals. The organization is licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Services (NYS OASAS).
This is a full-time on-site role for a Substance Abuse Counselor, based in East Meadow, NY. The Substance Abuse Counselor will conduct evaluations and assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide counseling services, including group and individual therapy sessions. The role involves assisting clients with relapse prevention strategies and offering family support, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and maintaining thorough documentation of client progress.
Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers is an integral aspect of this position.
- Experience in Treatment Planning and Case Management is required.
- Knowledge of Chemical Dependency and Relapse Prevention strategies is essential.
- Understanding of Mental Health issues related to substance use is needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Relevant certification or licensure as a Substance Abuse Counselor.
- Experience working in a clinical or substance abuse treatment setting is preferred.
