Overview
Seeking a full-time Dietetic Technician for our Skilled Nursing Facility in East Meadow.
Pay Range: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Schedule:
Full-time
- Dietary Planning & Coordination — Collaborate with the Food Service Supervisor and interdisciplinary team to assess residents’ dietary needs. Develop and implement individualized meal plans that meet nutritional needs and physician-prescribed dietary restrictions. Design and review menus to ensure nutritional standards and resident dietary preferences are met.
- Food Service Management & Support — Assist in developing and implementing food service policies, procedures, and best practices. Support daily dietary operations, monitor food preparation and service to ensure adherence to dietary guidelines. Ensure meal consistency and quality, monitor portion control and presentation in line with prescribed dietary plans.
- Team Collaboration & Operational Support — Assist with evaluating staffing needs and supporting operational efficiency of the dietary department. Collaborate with nursing and healthcare teams to ensure residents nutritional needs are met. Provide education to residents and families on nutritional concerns and dietary recommendations.
- Compliance & Quality Control — Ensure all dietary practices comply with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards. Participate in audits and quality assurance reviews to improve food service operations.
Required:
- Completion of an ACEND-accredited Nutrition and Dietetics Technician program.
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Successful completion of 450 hours of supervised practice in healthcare, food service, or community nutrition programs.
- Certification:
Passed the Commission on Dietetic Registration’s (CDR) national examination to become a Certified Nutrition and Dietetics Technician (NDTR). - Strong knowledge of dietary and nutrition principles, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a healthcare team to ensure the well-being of residents.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting is a plus.
- Knowledge of dietary software or nutrition management systems is beneficial.
