Estimator - Masonry

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Estimator with some experience in masonry, construction estimating, or related fields. This role involves preparing accurate bids, reviewing project plans, attending occasional site visits, and supporting the estimating department as the company continues to expand especially into the Des Moines market.

The ideal candidate can be junior or senior-level, but must have prior estimating experience in construction. This individual will eventually take on some of the owner’s current responsibilities and contribute to long-term operational stability.

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for masonry construction projects.
• Review construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
• Collaborate with project managers, the owner, and other estimators to align bid strategy.
• Attend occasional site visits in Des Moines, IA to evaluate project conditions.
• Maintain organized documentation and ensure timely submission of bids.
• Assist in securing profitable projects and supporting company growth into new markets.
• Eventually take over some senior estimator duties as team members transition roles or retire.

• Experience as a construction estimator (masonry preferred, but general construction acceptable).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and within a small team.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to Des Moines occasionally.
