The role involves providing direct services to students with hearing impairments. Responsibilities include writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and providing consultation to school staff. You will follow and implement all aspects of special education programming, including IEP goals and objectives and data collection. Develop and implement quality instruction aligned to student needs, addressing IEP goals and objectives. Utilize appropriate and differentiated instructional strategies to meet diverse academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Review and revise assigned IEPs annually, ensuring adherence to each student's goals. Maintain ongoing assessments, providing up-to-date data, progress reports, and report cards. Create a social and emotional climate conducive to effective instruction. Support the development of students' physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Exercise sound judgment in navigating student behaviors and complex problem-solving situations. Foster a safe and positive teaching and learning environment that promotes student confidence and independence.
Build and maintain professional rapport with students, staff, and community stakeholders. Actively participate in meetings with support staff to discuss program needs and monitor student progress. Engage in professional development activities aimed at improving instruction and promoting student success. Practice ethical and professional standards of conduct at all times. Collaborate effectively with paraprofessional staff, guiding classroom activities and monitoring student achievements.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
