Your Responsibilities

As an OFP Quality Engineer for Harvester Works located in East Moline, IL, you will be responsible for tactical production support within the X9 Combine Business Unit to assure John Deere Combines meet customer expectations. You will investigate product and process issues in a manufacturing environment and develop/implement solutions for corrective/preventative action(s). This position is a core part of the business unit team responsible for the production metrics and overall performance of the operation.

Additionally, you will:

  • Support daily operations by responding to tactical quality-related issues while supporting/leading product and process improvements for the business unit team
  • Lead/own the ongoing management of dynamic production quality control plan (inspection checklists, inspector work content and expectations, manufacturing process control plan steps in MES system)
  • Support/lead engineering projects to improve quality through Qnote/data analysis, dynamic control plan execution, Continuous Improvement projects, warranty data analysis
  • Support the Factory Engineering organization through key initiatives focused on Smart-Connected Factory and Technology/Analytics capabilities
  • Achieve performance targets for safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency
What Skills You Need
  • Experience supporting production/factory floor in a UAW environment
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement processes
  • Root Cause/Corrective Action experience and proficiency
  • Working knowledge of basic production tooling and equipment
  • Experience working directly with MES systems as a quality tool
  • Understanding of safety, quality, and delivery metrics
  • SAP experience and proficiency
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Experience with quality process/systems improvement projects
  • JDAAT Admin/authoring experience
  • MPP knowledge and experience
  • Experience with CI-200 projects
  • FIA 2.0 experience
Education
  • Bachelor's in Engineering discipline or equivalent and/or years of related experience. Others may apply.
