Position Title
Estimator / Project Manager
LocationEast Moline, IL
Responsibilities- Prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates
- Manage projects from initial RFQ through delivery
- Track project schedules, costs, and profitability
- Coordinate customer requirements with production capabilities and timelines
- Monitor job performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Respond to customer inquiries and Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
- Meet with customers to understand project requirements and provide manufacturing solutions
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
- Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and secure new business
- Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
- Utilize Creo CAD software to prepare and review customer designs
- Create and modify production-ready files for manufacturing
- Nest parts to maximize material utilization and production efficiency
- Program and set up fiber laser cutting operations
- Develop press brake setups and production plans for shop personnel
- Create manufacturing documentation and work instructions as needed
- Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Source materials, hardware, and outside services
- Order components and raw materials required for production
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and competitive pricing
- Verify product quality and dimensional accuracy
- Ensure customer specifications and quality standards are met
- Troubleshoot production challenges and implement corrective actions
- Improve manufacturing processes, efficiency, and throughput
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment
- Oversee division profitability and financial performance
- Track key performance indicators including margins, efficiency, and throughput
- Develop strategies to grow revenue and expand capabilities
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost reductions
- Lead the division with an ownership mentality focused on customer satisfaction, quality, and long-term growth
- Experience in metal processing, sheet metal manufacturing, laser cutting, forming, or related manufacturing environments
- Proficiency with Creo or similar CAD software
- Experience with fiber laser cutting and press brake operations
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material utilization, and production planning
- Experience with estimating, quoting, and project management
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems preferred
- Strong customer-service orientation
- Results-driven and self-motivated
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
