In need of a LPN or an RN who will provide direct nursing care to residents, supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants and support personnel.
- Plan shift services, programs, and activities, and provide written & oral reports.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
- Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to the unit/shift.
- Complete & file required recordkeeping forms and charts.
- Receive & transcribe telephone orders from physicians.
- Chart nurses' notes in a descriptive manner.
- Prepare & administer medications as ordered by the physician.
- Develop & maintain rapport with inter‑departmental personnel.
- Maintain a warm, calm environment throughout the unit.
- Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suction, dressing changes, colostomy care, blood draws, massages, and range‑of‑motion exercises.
- Monitor personnel to ensure safety regulations are followed.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
- Provide IV & IV site care as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure.
- Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure.
- Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Make independent decisions when necessary.
- Knowledge of nursing & medical practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines for nursing care facilities.
- Current CPR certification is required.
- Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
- Move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Cope with mental & emotional stress.
- Meet general health requirements, including a medical & physical examination.
- Push, pull, move, or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry that weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
- Assist in evacuation of residents during emergencies.
