Sanitation Team Member (Cleaner, Housekeeping, Custodial) - Full Time

Location:

West Islip, NY

Compensation: $24.87 - $29.40

Custodial position responsible for cleaning and maintaining facilities, following safety and sanitation procedures, and supporting program operations as directed.

• Keep building clean and provide routine cleaning, sanitation and general upkeep
• Clean, dust furniture, sweep, mop or vacuum floors
• Empty/clean wastebaskets, trash containers, pick up recycled paper, replace light bulbs, and refill restroom dispensers
• Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow and debris from sidewalks
• Keep inventory of all cleaning supplies and inform Office Manager
• Prepare all meeting rooms and set up for programs, as directed
• Clean glass doors and windows
• Clean gym floor as needed
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies; use as directed
• Follow building sanitation procedures
• Vacuum chapel weekly or as needed; dust furnishings weekly
• Clean kitchen as needed and instructed
• Move furniture, equipment and tools as needed; open all locked offices to be cleaned and shut off coffee pots
• Perform other related duties within the scope of the position

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds
• Experience in or ability to learn general building maintenance
• Flexibility and a cooperative spirit
