Founded in 1998, EOCCS now serves Kindergarten through Fourth grade with about 500 students. The mission is to educate the “whole child” by providing hands‑on, active learning experiences through basic activities and to involve parents, community and staff in a comprehensive and caring educational environment.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated World Language Teacher to support non‑native English‑speaking students in developing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. The role requires patience, cultural sensitivity, and a strong understanding of language acquisition strategies and aims to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that fosters academic growth, language development, and student confidence.
Responsibilities- Develop and administer elementary curriculum consistent with district goals and objectives.
- Plan lessons and instructional materials to facilitate sequential assignments and efficient use of instructional time.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, adjusting instruction to meet individual needs, including students with special needs.
- Maintain anecdotal notes, collaborate with administration on student concerns, and keep accurate records of grading, attendance, and achievement.
- Familiarize with district and New Jersey State standardized tests; adapt curriculum to maximize student performance.
- Continuously acquire professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, or research.
- Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication with students and parents.
- Enforce student conduct standards and ensure a functional learning atmosphere.
- Coordinate with other staff members, participate in faculty meetings and committees.
- Select and requisition instructional aids and maintain inventory records.
- Provide additional after‑school support to struggling students during contracted times.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Ability to meet all state and federal guidelines to be licensed and “Highly Qualified” (ESSA).
- Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment.
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate with Elementary Education/ESL endorsement or eligibility.
- Minimum of 2 years elementary experience preferred.
- Approved criminal history and background check.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including public speaking.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment and remain calm under unexpected challenges.
- Eagerness to set ambitious, challenging, and tangible goals and drive to achieve them.
