The Registered Vascular Sonographer will provide on-site vascular studies for eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The role involves operating specialized diagnostic ultrasound equipment to record critical vascular information while maintaining national standards of care.
Location: Department of Veterans Affairs, East Orange, NJ
Schedule: 8a-4:30p
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostic Imaging: Operate ultrasound equipment to record vascular blood flow, blood pressure, limb volume changes, oxygen saturation, and cerebral/peripheral/abdominal circulation.
Patient Care Standards: Deliver care that meets or exceeds national standards established by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
Case Management: Review all pending cases daily and document reasons for any delays in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
Administrative Reporting: Maintain daily logs of cases performed and utilize Outlook emails/timesheets to sign in and out within 10 minutes of arrival and departure.
Professional Conduct: Adhere to VA privacy and confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA and the Privacy Act of 1974.
Qualifications & Requirements
Licensure: Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice Vascular Ultrasound Technology in a U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
Certification: Must be a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certified by ARDMS or a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certified by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
