Job Summary

Provide 3rd line operational support for CLS Windows Server, AWS infrastructure and systems in the company’s 24x7 hosted and cloud environments. You will be required to take ownership of problems through to resolution over a wide variety of systems and technologies. The role requires SME level experience for supporting multiple resilient solutions in an enterprise Microsoft Windows Server environment as well as an AWS Cloud environment.

Operations
  • Maintain and provide SME level infrastructure and content support for CLS internal and external solutions.
  • Ensure BAU service is prioritized, and all incidents, problems and service requests are responded to efficiently without negatively impacting SLAs and reporting metrics.
  • Maintain and support the enterprise Microsoft Windows Server environment.
  • Maintain and support the VMware Virtual Infrastructure environment.
  • Maintain and support datacenter hardware infrastructure.
  • Participate with the Infrastructure Support team in scheduled Disaster Recovery testing and provide SME level support for various technologies.
  • Create, maintain and review operational process and support documentation.
  • Perform daily/weekly/quarterly system checks; track identified issues and address or escalated as needed.
  • Participate in the On‑Call rota and planned weekend work as required.
  • Represent Infrastructure Support changes at the weekly CAB meeting; ensure changes have no adverse impact on delivery.
  • Create, maintain and review operational process for Risk Management; identify and document risks in production environments.
  • Automate and script using Windows Power Shell and other tools within SRE practices.
Strategy
  • Ensure CLS internal systems are managed to the highest standard by following industry best practices.
  • Demonstrate good problem‑management ownership and prevent SLA breaches under Incident/Problem Management processes.
  • Contribute to development of existing and new IT processes and procedures to enhance service transition and operation lifecycle stages.
  • Show self‑starter initiative to identify areas for improvement and take action.
Leadership
  • Support the team lead and act as a point of escalation for junior team members.
  • Provide peer leadership, ensuring high service delivery standards.
  • Lead and oversee release and transition of new IT services into support, meeting acceptance criteria.
  • Act as Technical Lead on internal RTB projects, applying communication, organisational and technical skills for successful outcomes.
Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Prior IT operational support experience across business‑critical production Windows Server, preferably virtual.

Desired

  • Microsoft/VMware certification.
  • AWS certification.
  • ITIL knowledge.
  • Power Shell proficiency.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Strong experience supporting production Windows Server solutions in an enterprise Microsoft Windows/Active Directory environment.
  • Experience supporting enterprise web infrastructure services and related technologies.
  • Experience supporting production VMware environment.
  • Experience supporting data backup technologies.
  • Experience with system management tools such as SCCM.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring systems – Dyna Trace.
  • Experience with ticket systems such as Service Now and understanding of priorities and SLAs.
  • Ability to implement technical changes without disruption and with minimal supervision.
  • Collaboration skills to support operational teams.
  • Cross‑training experience on technologies and processes.
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Excellent time‑management and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework (Incident, Problem, Change).
  • Automation skills with industry‑leading programming languages.
  • Experience supporting AWS cloud environments.
