Our client is an established manufacturer of precision metal components for the automotive industry. The company supplies function‑critical components used in modern vehicle platforms and is part of a larger organization.
The US business operates multiple manufacturing sites and is in a phase of steady growth. This executive role offers high visibility within an established automotive manufacturing business.
The RoleReporting to the President, the Vice President of Supply Chain owns the strategy and day‑to‑day operations of the US supply chain, including sourcing, procurement, logistics, and inventory management. The role spans the company's US manufacturing operations and is responsible for optimizing cost structures, synchronizing operations, and mitigating risk to ensure on‑time delivery while strengthening the company's overall efficiency and competitive position.
The position carries direct responsibility for the materials function and works closely with every department across the organization.
- Lead, mentor, and unify the supply chain, procurement, and logistics teams across the US manufacturing operations.
- Design and execute a resilient supply chain roadmap that supports the manufacturing environment, program launches, and company growth.
- Oversee inbound material planning and delivery across sites to ensure sufficient inventory and prevent production line stoppages.
- Direct sourcing strategies for raw materials and subcontract vendors, ensuring strict compliance with automotive quality standards (IATF).
- Manage supplier relationships, performance scorecards, and capacity planning for critical suppliers.
- Implement robust dual‑sourcing strategies to mitigate logistical and supply risk.
- Lead the monthly sales and operations planning (S&OP) process, aligning production capacity with customer demand while managing working capital and minimizing premium freight costs.
- Optimize ERP/MRP utilization across plants and integrate advanced tracking or EDI systems for real‑time visibility.
- Manage the supply chain Cap Ex and OpEx budget, drive continuous total‑cost‑down initiatives, and optimize outbound logistics costs.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain and operations management.
- Supply chain leadership experience within automotive manufacturing.
- Hands‑on experience working within IATF (automotive quality standard) requirements.
- A proven track record of aligning production capacity with customer demand.
- Strong ERP/MRP utilization experience.
- Exceptional vendor negotiation, risk management, and analytical skills.
- Travel: approximately 10‑15%.
- Base salary of $175,000 to $220,000, depending on experience.
