POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for transporting residents on and off campus to and from a variety of appointments, activities, errands, etc.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Provide transportation services when scheduled or on an emergency basis for residents at any level of care by loading/unloading residents and transporting to activities/appointments and providing assistance when needed.
- Maintain and facilitate a caring, compassionate and understanding relationship with residents by answering all questions and concerns.
- Precisely finish all paperwork connect with transporting the resident.
- Transport residents safely and in a timely manner to their final destination along with guaranteeing that the residents are secured when transporting.
- Ensure that vehicles are kept clean and maintained at all times.
- Fill vans and buses with gas, maintain vehicles cleanliness, provide routine scheduled inspections on all fleet vehicles and advise on necessary preventative or scheduled maintenance needs.
- Reports all vehicle maintenance needs to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Reports all unusual conditions, behaviors, and/or resident complaints to the appropriate Management/Supervisory personnel in a timely manner.
- Maintains a travel log to record areas traveled to, travel time and work hours.
- Responds and reacts in a kind, polite, and professional manner to residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervision.
- Responsible for protecting any confidential information concerning residents, family, and/or the organization.
- Bus drivers must maintain a current CDL and all drivers must demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to all Safety procedures
- Reports any instance of an accident, injury or damage of vehicles to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Maintains all vehicle records, including receipts for vehicle maintenance.
- Adheres to all organizational, departmental, and transportation procedures in the performance of position responsibilities.
- Must attend organizational or departmental conferences and/or in-services as scheduled.
- Flexible schedule for availability to work days, nights and weekends
- May be required to perform other duties in keeping with the nature of this position which will not significantly alter the job requirements
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement
