Do you want to work on the platform that removes undifferentiated heavy lifting for AWS's fastest-growing managed services? Alameda Platform is the foundation that lets service teams focus on building their product — not on deployment infrastructure, region expansion, or operational toil. Alameda allows the teams to singularly focus on their business logic.

You are an integral part of the core platform engineering team, working closely with service teams across AWS to design abstractions and automation that let them ship faster. You will engage in the full product cycle: architecture design, building shared frameworks, scaling deployment orchestration, and solving customer problems based on feedback.

Our team operates ~15,000 deployment cells across all AWS regions, serving 234 applications. We are expanding into classified partitions, simplifying our vendor experience, and looking for a senior engineer to help define what the next generation of managed service infrastructure looks like.

• Own end-to-end design and delivery of platform capabilities
• Build frameworks and abstractions that eliminate repetitive work for vendor teams (deployment, monitoring, security, region expansion)
• Drive architecture decisions for infrastructure-as-code (CDK/Cloud Formation), orchestration, and multi-region automation
• Reduce operational toil through self-healing systems and improved observability
• Mentor SDEs and raise the bar through design reviews and technical standards
• Operate what you build — oncall, root cause analysis, and mechanisms to prevent recurrence

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

• Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
