Software Development Engineer, Amazon Redshift Data Foundations

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer (SDE) to join our Redshift Data Foundations team in the Bay Area (Palo Alto). Your work will help deliver an industry‑leading, fully managed petabyte‑scale data analytics service that allows businesses to process exabytes of data every day. You will design, engineer, and operate large‑scale, fault‑tolerant data and transaction management solutions that drive performance, scalability, and cost‑efficiency across AWS regions and availability zones.

• Design, implement, and deliver state‑of‑the‑art distributed, high‑performance data and transaction management processing algorithms and solutions.
• Continuously invent and re‑architect components and workflows to create new technologies that meet future data‑analytics demands.
• Deploy and monitor new features in a highly available, fault‑tolerant system running in the cloud.
• Collaborate with and mentor other engineers, providing technical guidance and supporting the growth of a fast‑growing team.

• 3+ years of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) for new and existing systems.
• 1+ year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ year of designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ year of Object‑Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent field.
