We are actively hiring a System Development Engineer II on the Redshift Control Plane team.
This role is for those motivated by working in a fast‑paced environment, who take full ownership of their work and build teams of excellent engineers.
- Identifying and solving challenging systems, process and tooling issues to improve customer experience.
- Designing and implementing software components, products, or services that improve operational efficiency.
- Investigating technical issues thoroughly, performing root‑cause analysis, and implementing long‑term fixes to prevent recurrence.
- Providing solutions to technically challenging real business problems in a global organization.
- Designing and coding solutions to drive efficiencies in software architecture, creating metrics, implementing automation, and resolving root causes of defects.
- Building high‑impact solutions for our large customer base.
- Participating in design discussions, code review, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Working cross‑functionally to help drive business decisions with technical input.
- Operating in a startup‑like development environment where the focus is on the most important work.
- 2+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- 1+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scalability).
- 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands‑on systems engineering.
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, or Ruby.
- Experience with Power Shell, Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.
Base salary range: $ – $ USD annually. Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
