Caterpillar is seeking a Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Coordinator
, within the Resource Industries Tracked Products Division
. As the S&OP Coordinator you will report to the Senior Manager of Sales and Operations Planning and will be primarily responsible for creating a business forecast for each monthly cycle. You will also be responsible for identifying and executing opportunities to improve forecast efficiency and accuracy, and preparing the annual Long-Term Forecast. We have a fabulous team that does some of the most exciting work at Caterpillar, and we can’t wait for you to join the team!

• This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week at the Peoria, IL or East Peoria, IL office.

• This position may require up to 5% travel.

• Create a monthly product group forecast based on changes in supply and demand, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Provide supporting facts, data and statistics to support the business forecast and related changes.
• Use enterprise tools to input and adjust shipment plans and the product group forecast. Adjust the shipment plan and order coverage status based on actual monthly results.
• Perform data analysis for key performance metrics, including a comparison of how actual results compare to the forecast. Leverage critical thinking and problem solving to identify root causes for the variance.
• Determine and report the results for various S&OP metrics.
• Assist with aligning the product group forecast to the financial business plan.

You have experience gathering, interpreting, and analyzing demand data to support weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasting activities.

You can collect, synthesize, and evaluate information from multiple sources to support effective business decision-making.

You can identify discrepancies, evaluate business challenges, determine root causes, assess risks and opportunities, and develop data-driven recommendations that improve outcomes.

You understand the importance of precision and consistently deliver high‑quality work while managing large volumes of detailed information.

You build strong working relationships across functions and effectively coordinate efforts to achieve shared goals.

• A college or university degree.
• Experience supporting a Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) environment.
• Advanced skills with data systems such as Excel, Snowflake, Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, BIC.
• Experience developing demand forecasts, and analyzing variance.
• Over 5 years of progressively responsible job‑related knowledge.
• Knowledge of Large Track Type Tractor machines, applications, and customers.
• Experience working with business resource (accounting), and factory scheduling teams.
• Continuous improvement mindset, able to create a vision for an improved future state, and execute.
