Provide instruction to a diverse group of students in Introductory Psychology, developmental psychology courses, and academic success courses. May include a combination of day, evening, weekend, and/or off-campus classes. Adjunct faculty are primarily responsible for instructing assigned courses that meet classroom standards, following institutional syllabi, and maintaining office hours to ensure student success. Adjunct faculty teach on a part‑time basis up to 12 contact hours per semester.
EssentialFunctions
- Instruct and coordinate courses (lecture and/or lab-based) ensuring all necessary materials and tools are readily available and that safety standards are met, when appropriate.
- Follow syllabi for assigned courses, communicating the expectations and schedule for the classwork.
- Maintain office hours and availability.
- Master’s degree in psychology or master’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours in psychology.
- Applicant must be a resident of Illinois at the time of hire.
- Community College teaching experience.
