Training Specialist
We are seeking a Training Specialist to support the onboarding and development of new employees in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for delivering engaging classroom and hands-on training, ensuring new hires receive the knowledge, safety training, and practical skills needed to succeed. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of training, teaching, or instructional experience, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to coach employees in both classroom and shop floor settings.
Manufacturing experience is preferred, and candidates should be comfortable working with diverse groups while maintaining accurate training records and supporting a collaborative onboarding process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation sessions.
- Deliver instructor-led classroom and virtual training programs.
- Provide hands-on training in a manufacturing/shop floor environment.
- Conduct safety and compliance training in accordance with company policies.
- Evaluate trainee knowledge and performance through assessments and observation.
- Monitor trainee progress and provide coaching, feedback, and additional support as needed.
- Maintain accurate training records, attendance logs, and documentation.
- Collaborate with onboarding, HR, and operational teams to ensure a smooth training experience.
- Promote a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling employee information and training records.
Required Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in training, teaching, facilitation, or instructional roles.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills.
- Experience delivering classroom, virtual, or hands-on training.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple departments.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, including maintaining training documentation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and digital training documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience supporting employee onboarding programs.
- Ability to adapt training methods to different learning styles.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Flexibility to work in both classroom and production floor environments.
- Experience using digital training tools or learning management systems (LMS) is a plus.
