Part-Time Special Education Teacher Assistant
Riverview Elementary School (Spring Bay, IL) is accepting applications for a part-time special education teacher assistant. This position will work primarily with a junior high male student who has emotional/behavioral and learning needs. Duties include instructional support in the general education classroom and may be needed during other periods, vocational support during school-wide job experiences, assisting the student to monitor and rate his behavior, assisting the student to follow his behavior plan.
This position works closely with the case manager, all general education teachers, school social worker, and the school principal/superintendent. IL Paraprofessional Licensure is required. CPI training will be provided in September. Experience preferred but not required. The ideal candidate should have some understanding of students with disabilities, a calm personality, ability to work as a team to help the student succeed, and demonstrate patience and flexibility.
