Industrial Technology Teacher – AutomotiveEast Peoria Community High School District #309 is seeking a qualified, innovative and hands‑on educator or industry professional to lead our Industrial Technology‑Automotive program to help prepare students for high‑demand careers in the skilled trades, particularly automotive technology. Preference will be given to individuals with proof of successful experience in the area. The selected person will assume duties for the 2026‑27 school year.
This position offers the opportunity to build and expand a program that teaches real‑world technical skills while working with industry partners such as Caterpillar, Illinois Central College and local dealerships to prepare students for careers in automotive technology and related fields. Students learn in a recently upgraded automotive shop and a dedicated small‑engines lab, renovated in partnership with Caterpillar, designed to support efficient, hands‑on, career‑connected learning.
ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate the Industrial Technology‑Automotive curriculum.
Develop instructional materials and assessments.
Collaborate with industry partners to enhance student learning opportunities.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of automotive technologies and industry standards.
Ensure a safe and productive learning environment in the shop and lab.
QualificationsCitizenship, residency or work visa required.
Valid teaching certificate required for educator applicants; not required for industry professionals.
Experience in automotive technology or related fields preferred.
Salary & BenefitsSalary: $47,600 Per Year
Benefits include sick days, personal days, TRS retirement, health, dental and vision insurance.
