Supplier Development Engineer – East Peoria, Illinois. As a Supplier Development Engineer, you will assess supplier quality and ensure that all products are free from defects and comply with manufacturing specifications and legal standards.

• Ensure the quality of supplies by conducting tests and assessments on incoming supplies to identify quality issues; develop supplier inspection, testing, and evaluation mechanisms.
• Generate reports on supplier quality, monitor defect rates and potential flaw areas; guide suppliers to reduce defect rates.
• Research potential vendors, assess their manufacturing environment, practices, and procedures; conduct supplier quality control audits to ensure compliance with organizational and federal policies and standards.
• Support suppliers in improving performance through process enhancements, implementing process controls, and developing quality assurance plans.

• Foundry or machining management experience for metallic/non‑metallic drivetrain products; 5–10 years of foundry, machining, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Moderate understanding of data analytics for proactively identifying areas within supplier processes to apply PCA’s and improve performance and metrics.
• Working knowledge of Power BI development to maintain tools designed to manage supplier quality by facility.
• Working knowledge in data analytics.

  Extensive knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
• Process Improvement:
  Extensive understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods with a continuous improvement focus.
• Quality Orientation:
  Extensive knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques; ability to create and support an environment that meets quality goals.
• Production Part Approval Process (PPAP):
  Extensive knowledge of PPAP elements, submissions, and objectives; ability to determine whether a supplier can manufacture products that consistently meet quality requirements.
• Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies:
  Extensive knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.

• Relocation is not available for this position.
• The primary location will be Peoria, IL but can also be located in Decatur, IL.

Summary Pay Range: $ – $. Compensation and benefits may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, performance, and experience. Salary is only one component of total compensation.

This position requires working onsite five days a week. Up to 40% travel. Primary location:

Decatur, IL.
