EHS Manager
What You Will Do- Identifies common and more complex safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organizations operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.
- Investigates and implements new pollution control technologies through the work of EHS staff.
- Prepares presentations for training and communications at the facility, BU, and Corporate level as required.
- Maintains relationships with regulatory and government agency personnel.
- Investigates and establishes standards for protective equipment.
- Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
- Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions and alerts line management to problems.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other applicable standards.
- Lead development of onboarding / on the job training (OJT) process
- Lead the development of strategic medical / wellness initiatives
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify hazards and implement corrective actions for existing processes and New Capital Introduction.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and compliance activities, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate scientific or engineering discipline or equivalent EHS experience is desired.
- Sustainability:

Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations. - Collaborating:
Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. - Decision Making and Critical Thinking:
Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. - Interpersonal Relationships:
Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. - Overcoming Resistance to Change:
Understanding and insight into the futility of refusing to accept the inevitable and ability to overcome resistance and adapt to a complex and changing environment. - Problem Solving:
Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. - Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance:
Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
- Prior supervisory experience
- Professional certification (CHMM, PE, CIH, or CSP)
- A strong understanding of EHS regulations
- Demonstrated experience working up and down all levels of the organization
- This position will be located onsite 5 days a week in East Peoria, IL (Building KK).
