Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Data Security Engineer to join our team in migrating our software solutions to a cloud‑based environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data security, cloud technologies, and compliance standards. This role involves ensuring the security and integrity of data throughout the cloud migration process, implementing best practices, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities- Design secure cloud architectures for migrating software solutions.
- Ensure the architecture incorporates best practices for data protection, access control, and compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
- Implement encryption solutions for data at rest and in transit.
- Ensure data protection measures meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement robust access control and identity management solutions.
- Manage user permissions and roles to ensure least privilege access.
- Ensure cloud migration processes comply with relevant data security regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
- Implement monitoring solutions to detect and respond to security incidents.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans to address potential security breaches.
- Work closely with development, Dev Ops, and operations teams to integrate security into all stages of the cloud migration process.
- Provide security guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Report findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
- Document security policies, procedures, and architecture.
- Provide regular updates and reports on security status and incidents.
- Stay updated with the latest security technologies, threats, and best practices.
- Continuously improve security strategies and processes based on feedback and evolving threats.
- Train and educate team members on security best practices and policies.
- Promote a culture of security awareness within the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Security Engineer, with a focus on cloud environments and migrations.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency in data encryption, access control, and identity management.
- Experience with security monitoring and incident response tools.
- In-depth understanding of data security regulations and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
