SummaryThe primary role is to identify user requirements and design specifications for computer networks. Responsibilities include planning and implementing network upgrades to enhance performance and reliability.
Responsibilities- Analyze and make recommendations to adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands.
- Supervise network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
- Review and approve equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems.
- Review and approve solutions for network problems.
- Review and approve conceptual, logical, or physical network designs.
- Develop procedures to track, project, or report network availability, reliability, capacity, or utilization.
- Develop or recommend network security measures, such as firewalls, network security audits, or automated security probes.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field required.
- 8-10 years of experience required.
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
- Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage.
- Strong knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software, and internet directory services software.
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is $55.00 - $56.00/hour. Non‑exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
