Caterpillar is hiring a full-time Industrial Electrician for the Undercarriage Building in East Peoria (1st shift) with starting pay of $37.67/hr and a $5,000 retention bonus. The role involves building, installing, testing, troubleshooting, calibrating and repairing electrical and electronic circuits, PLC/CNC and relay-logic controlled machine tools, and supporting new equipment installation. Requires ~3 years electrical/electronic experience (or equivalent), schematic interpretation skills, use of test instruments, and passing assessments and a drug screen.

Caterpillar has exciting opportunity for an Electrician at our East Peoria, IL (Undercarriage Building BB) facility! Pay starts at $37.67
per hour
. This full-time position offers benefits including health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, 401K etc.
We offer a $5,000 retention bonus for this role. The bonus is paid in two installments of $2,500 at the end of each calendar quarter. New hires are eligible for the first installment at the end of the quarter in which they start.
Job Responsibilities- Build, install, repair electrical and electronic circuits used on machine tools and plant equipment
- Apply knowledge of operation of electronic circuits to locate defects using instruments
- Test faulty equipment
- Apply knowledge of operation of electronic units and systems to diagnose malfunctions
- Utilize oscilloscopes, signal generators, electronic counter, recorders, etc.
- Calibrate and service electronic testing instruments
- Electrically troubleshoot and repair complex machine tools and related equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair relay logic machines and CNC/PLC controlled machines
- Support electrical aspects of new equipment installation
- Demonstrate comprehension of oral instructions and/or printed work orders to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
- Satisfactorily demonstrate proficiency in electrical and electronic theory and application relating to plant operations and equipment
- Demonstrate an intermediate working knowledge of interpreting schematics and electrical diagrams
- Possess three years of experience, or demonstrate the equivalent, before performing intermediate tasks on electrical and electronic machinery and equipment
- Obtain two years of experience, or demonstrate the equivalent, before performing basic mechanical installation or repair to equipment
- Conduit bending experience
