Truck Loader; 3rd Shift

Role Description

The Truck Loader (3rd Shift) is a full‑time, on‑site role based at our East Peoria, IL location. This role is responsible for safely loading and unloading steel and aluminum products onto trucks using appropriate material‑handling equipment, following load plans and shipping documentation. Day‑to‑day tasks include verifying order accuracy, inspecting materials for damage, securing loads to meet safety and transportation standards, and maintaining a clean, organized loading area.

The Truck Loader collaborates with shipping, warehouse, and production teams to meet schedules, minimize delays, and support efficient distribution operations. The role requires strict adherence to safety procedures, use of personal protective equipment, and consistent communication with supervisors regarding order status and any issues that arise during loading.

• Experience with material handling in a warehouse or industrial environment, including loading and unloading trucks and organizing inventory.
• Ability to operate, or willingness to learn to operate, forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, or other material‑handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail for verifying order quantities, types of materials, and load accuracy against shipping documents.
• Commitment to safety practices, including proper lifting techniques, use of PPE, and adherence to company and regulatory guidelines.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move heavy materials, and work in a fast‑paced industrial setting on 3rd shift.
• Basic math and reading skills to interpret work orders, labels, and weight limits; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and supervisors.
• Previous experience in metal, manufacturing, or logistics operations is beneficial; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
