Staff Accountant with a strong grasp of GAAP and hands‑on experience supporting mission‑driven accounting operations. Schedule:
Mix of in‑office collaboration and remote flexibility - Compensation: $75,000–$95,000 annually, based on experience
- Support day‑to‑day accounting operations across multiple programs and funding sources
- Maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and non‑profit accounting standards
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly financial statements
- Assist with fund accounting, restricted/unrestricted funds tracking, and grant reporting
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for departments and programs
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements
- Assist with audits, reviews, and compliance reporting
- Partner with program managers and leadership to monitor budgets, expenses, and funding utilization
- Prepare financial reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders (boards, funders, auditors)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience within non‑profit, public accounting, or general ledger‑focused roles
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with fund accounting, grants management, or multi‑entity environments is a plus
- Proficiency with accounting software (Quick Books or similar ERP systems)
- Strong reconciliation skills with close attention to detail and documentation
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
