Part-Time Physical Education Teacher (K-8)

Strides Academy, a private special education school serving students in grades K-8, is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Part-Time Physical Education Teacher to join our team.

This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about promoting physical wellness, teamwork, confidence, and movement-based learning in a supportive and therapeutic school environment.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate physical education activities for students in grades K-8
• Adapt lessons and activities to support a variety of learning, behavioral, and physical needs
• Promote physical fitness, cooperation, sportsmanship, and healthy habits
• Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive gym environment
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to support student success
• Supervise students during physical education activities and transitions

• Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings
• Ability to create a positive and encouraging learning environment
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred
• RI teaching certification is a plus, but not required depending on experience, qualifications and education
