Grade 3 Teacher
St. Mary Academy – Bay View seeks a full-time Grade 3 Teacher for the school year. Successful applicants must be willing to work collaboratively to build a supportive learning environment, use student‑centered instructional practices, and foster deeper learning. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, proactive individual who builds impactful relationships with students, communicates with families, and collaborates with faculty and staff.
The person hired must become a full part of the Bay View community and engage in extracurricular activities, demonstrating a deep commitment to the student experience and wellness. Candidates must be committed to an all‑girls education and Mercy values.
An all‑girls, independent, Mercy Catholic school located in Riverside, Rhode Island, serving a diverse population of girls from Pre‑K through Grade 12. Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver instruction in core subject areas
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess student learning and communicate progress with families
- Integrate Mercy Catholic values and teachings into daily instruction
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership
- Participate in school events, professional development, and additional extracurricular activities
- BA/BS degree in education or related field;
Master’s degree preferred - Valid teaching certification
- Knowledge and experience teaching a rigorous history curriculum
- High energy level, creative and forward‑thinking
- Strong work ethic and caring temperament
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- A sense of humor, warmth, and a love of working with girls and their families
