Long term Substitute Kindergarten

The East Providence School Department is seeking a qualified and dedicated long‑term substitute Kindergarten Teacher to begin in March and continue through the end of the school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high‑quality instruction in a kindergarten classroom and maintaining continuity of learning in alignment with district curriculum and expectations.

• Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with district and state standards.
• Create a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment.
• Implement lesson plans and classroom routines.
• Assess student progress and communicate effectively with school staff.
• Collaborate with grade‑level colleagues, support staff, and administration.
• Uphold all district policies and procedures.

• Must hold a valid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) certification in Elementary Education (Kindergarten–Grade
  6).
• Prior experience teaching kindergarten is preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Federal Background Check (BCI).

This is a long‑term substitute position beginning in March and continuing through the end of the school year, in accordance with East Providence School Department policies.
Position Type: Full‑time.

• Position will run from 8/31/2026 to 12/14/2026.
• At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
