KLR Executive Search Group is proud to partner with a privately held, diversified organization is seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer to serve as the senior finance leader across a portfolio of operating businesses, investment entities, and real estate holdings. Reporting directly to ownership, this role offers the opportunity to bring structure, financial rigor, and strategic insight to a complex and growing organization.
The CFO will oversee all finance and accounting activities, provide leadership across multiple business segments, and serve as a trusted advisor on financial performance, investment opportunities, capital allocation, and risk management. This position is well-suited for an experienced CFO or a high-performing Controller ready to step into a broader executive leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior financial leader overseeing a diversified portfolio of operating businesses, investment entities, and real estate holdings.
- Lead all finance and accounting operations across multiple legal entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cash management, and accounting compliance.
- Partner with ownership to support strategic decision-making involving investments, capital allocation, lending activity, operating performance, and growth initiatives.
- Oversee a private lending portfolio, including loan performance monitoring, repayment tracking, interest accruals, and portfolio risk management.
- Direct multi-entity accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, account reconciliations, monthly close, and financial statement preparation.
- Manage treasury operations, liquidity planning, debt service, intercompany transactions, cash flow forecasting, and capital planning across multiple entities.
- Build and strengthen financial infrastructure by enhancing internal controls, reporting processes, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning capabilities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while serving as the primary financial liaison to ownership, banking partners, lenders, external advisors, and other key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including significant leadership responsibility in multi-entity or highly diversified environments.
- Prior experience as a CFO, Vice President of Finance, Controller, or similar senior finance leader, with the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on.
