Sr. Data Scientist

Position Summary

Sr Data Scientist at Aetna Resources, LLC, a CVS Health company, based in Woonsocket, RI. The role focuses on developing and implementing analytics applications and models to transform data into meaningful information. Telecommuting is available and multiple openings exist.

• Design and develop data solutions using industry‑leading tools, technologies, and best practices to profile data and develop efficient ingestion from PBM, Specialty, Retail, and Health Care data sources.
• Develop advanced algorithms and statistical predictive models to evaluate scenarios, predict outcomes, and provide usable information on health metrics and potential outcomes.
• Utilize data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and manipulate data from multiple large data sources; deliver predictive models that inform in‑house teams (pharmacy pricing, medical costs, risk scores, onboarding) and customer engagement across critical journeys (calories, heart rate, breast cancer, maternity).
• Utilize data‑oriented programming languages and visualization software to explore, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data; solve complex business problems.
• Visualize and interpret data; create reports; manipulate data using statistical software; compare models using performance metrics.
• Support deployment of insights across multiple channels using analysis methods, machine learning, and statistical analyses.

• Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least eighteen (18) months of experience in the offered role or a related occupation.
• At least eighteen (18) months of experience with each of the following:
• Programming in Python, R, and SQL
• Spark Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Py Spark
• Machine learning, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling
• Analytics for marketing, clinical trials, or healthcare research
• Designing data models and solutions for analytical and reporting use cases
• Analyzing large data sets from multiple data sources
• Traditional relational database management systems including Oracle, MySQL, or IBM DB2

$–$ per year. Base salary will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors. Eligible for bonus, commission or short‑term incentive, and equity award program.
