Assistant Warehouse Manager

Overview

HRmango has an exciting opportunity for a full-time/direct hire Assistant Warehouse Manager for a client in East Providence, RI. The Assistant Warehouse Manager is a key leadership role responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, opening and closing the facility, and providing hands-on leadership and technical guidance across all warehouse functions.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives in building processes from the ground up, coaching and developing team members, and implementing structured, scalable warehouse systems. This individual must model a positive attitude, uphold company policies and procedures, and help establish a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

• Open and close the warehouse and ensure daily operational readiness
• Schedule, prioritize, and pull new customer and production orders
• Accurately enter completed orders into the warehouse and ERP system
• Monitor and coordinate shipping and receiving activities to ensure accuracy and timelines
• Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and stock organization
• Serve as a direct liaison with vendors, carriers, and internal clients as needed
• Proactively coach, train, and support warehouse staff to improve performance and engagement
• Assist with counseling and corrective action when necessary, in partnership with management
• Supervise and support 1 warehouse team member, with responsibility to help scale the team as the location grows
• Contribute to the creation, documentation, and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Support the implementation, usage, and optimization of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other digital warehousing tools
• Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements related to layout, workflow, safety, and systems
• Act as a leadership presence on the floor, setting expectations and leading by example

• High school diploma or GED required; additional education in logistics, supply chain, or operations a plus
• 2+ years of experience supervising or leading warehouse, shipping, or receiving operations
• Demonstrated experience coaching, training, and developing warehouse staff
• Experience helping build or improve warehouse processes, SOPs, trainings, and workflow
• Hands-on experience with WMS or digital inventory/warehouse systems strongly preferred
• Experience in a distribution or manufacturing warehouse environment highly desirable
• Forklift certification and hands-on forklift driving experience
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet-based systems
• Comfortable working in a growing, changing environment
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
