Facilities & Equipment Technician Job Summary

The Facilities & Equipment Technician supports the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment, tooling, fixtures, and facility systems. This hands-on role works closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, contractors, and vendors to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment, tooling, fixtures, and facility systems.
  • Build, modify, and install jigs, fixtures, and equipment components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and document work in a CMMS such as UpKeep.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control-system issues.
  • Assist with equipment moves, installations, alignments, upgrades, and production layout changes.
  • Support basic facility repairs involving lighting, plumbing, compressed air, ventilation, and related systems.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, meters, gauges, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Assist Engineering with equipment improvements, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain maintenance records, equipment documentation, spare parts, and tooling inventories.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed.
  • Assist with training employees on basic equipment operation and preventive maintenance.
  • Travel to the Sanford, Maine facility approximately 3-5 days per month for maintenance, repairs, installations, and facility projects.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, equipment repair, facilities maintenance, or manufacturing support preferred.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read drawings, manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and computerized maintenance systems.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, including aerospace, medical device, automotive, electronics, or defense manufacturing, is a plus.
  • Basic CAD and technical drawing experience preferred.
  • Fabrication, machining, welding, or fixture-building experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work around manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds
    .
  • Ability to work around machinery, electrical systems, tools, noise, and other manufacturing conditions.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Pay Details

$29.00 to $35.00 per hour
