Based at our Distribution Warehouse near the East Providence plant, the Material Handler supports shipping and receiving by staging finished goods and raw materials for prompt identification and shipment of customer orders in a safe and orderly manner. You will ensure raw materials are received and shipped based on delivery and production schedules.

• Assist in unloading finished goods from the production plant and receive material with a mobile scanning device
• Escalate issues identified during offload to the supervisor
• Review weekly shipment schedule to determine placement of product in inventory or staging locations
• Verify items, descriptions, and quantities on schedule against goods being staged
• Scan material into locations and verify transaction accuracy in real time
• Perform inventory transactions (transfers, conversions) in Dynamics WMS
• Build crated orders by customer requests as noted on schedule
• Move finished goods and materials to designated storage areas, following signage or maps
• Identify material staged in incorrect areas and relocate as needed
• Evaluate warehouse layout and implement changes as required
• Load finished goods shipments to customers and coordinate with the supervisor on final destination
• Perform visual inspections of containers/trailers prior to loading for safety and product integrity
• Sweep outbound trailers for dust and debris; clean floors as needed
• Adhere to maximum loading allowances of containers and trucks as directed by Logistics Coordinator
• Maintain storage organization and inventory reconciliation
• Investigate and address inventory discrepancies; perform routine cycle counts and quarterly/year-end physical counts
• Identify and segregate finished and non-conforming (NCO) goods to prevent mis-shipment
• Keep the warehouse clean and uncluttered
• Coordinate with relieving staff to communicate issues (orders, inventory, safety, housekeeping)
• Take directions from Distribution and Logistics Coordinators daily
• Secure the building (alarm, lighting, lock up) at the end of shift
• Communicate any issues with finished goods or products to management as needed

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior experience as a material handler in a manufacturing environment
• Dynamics WMS or equivalent system experience preferred
• At least 3 years of forklift experience required
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs when required

• Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit (forklift operations)
• Frequent hand and finger dexterity; occasionally climb, balance, bend, kneel, or crawl
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
• Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and temperature variations
• Noise level is usually loud
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move more than 5 pounds
