Job Description Shipping/Receiving SupervisorA family owned business in the East Providence area is looking for someone to join their close-knit team as a Shipping / Receiving Supervisor! The perfect candidate will have experience with UPS and Fed Ex software, be comfortable checking the accuracy of Bills of Lading, and will be ready to lead a small team of Material Handlers as they check incoming shipments for accuracy and deliver the outgoing goods to their loyal customer base!

Responsibilities:

- Routing deliveries as needed
- Coordinate all LTL and TL shipments
- Oversee the shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse
- Ensure accurate and timely receipt of all incoming shipments
- Supervise a small team
- Implement and maintain efficient processes for receiving, inspecting, and storing goods
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate the flow of materials
- Monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Experience:

- Previous experience in a supervisory role in a warehouse or distribution center
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and processes
- Proficient in using forklifts and other materials handling equipment
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures
- Understanding of OSHA regulations related to warehouse operations
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required

Skills:

- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on process improvement
- Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with inventory management software
