Court Security Officer, East St Louis, IL

Walden Security is currently recruiting experienced Court Security Officers. CSOs will provide armed security to courthouses under the USMS contract.

• Perform entrance control: enforce entry and identification system, operate security screening equipment to detect weapons, contraband, and prohibited items.
• Perform roving patrols throughout the court facilities and grounds in accordance with applicable post orders.
• Perform stationary post assignments, monitoring closed‑circuit television, duress alarm systems, courtrooms, judge chambers, and jury rooms.
• Provide escort services for judges, court personnel, jurors, and other designated individuals.
• Control garage parking and pedestrian traffic where applicable, directing traffic and controlling lights.
• Enforce federal law and detain unauthorized persons attempting to gain access or commit acts imperiling safety.
• Prepare reports and records on contract performance, labor hours, accidents, threats, incidents, or unlawful acts.
• Preserve order in the courtroom, enforce federal law, judicial orders, and local court rules, and protect court proceedings as needed.

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law‑enforcement officer or military equivalent, with general arrest authority, all within the last 7 years.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English; understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record for the past 5 years.
• Clearance from the Department of Justice.
• Certification from a federal, state, county, local, or military law‑enforcement training academy.
• Minimum age 21; ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Meet medical standards as specified by the USMS; reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
