Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of IR experience for a travel assignment at a Level 3 trauma center in Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities- Interventional Radiology unit in a Level 3 trauma center
- Day shift, 5x8 hours, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Rotational on-call required: 15 hours on weekdays beginning at 4:00 PM, and 24 hours on weekends and holidays beginning at 7:00 AM
- Procedures include abdominal and pelvic angiography, aortography, angioplasty, chemo embolization, embolization, endograft placement, IVC filter placement and removal, liver biopsy, paracentesis, thoracentesis, TIPS, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, upper and lower extremity angiography, central venous access/port placement, gastrostomy tube placement, chest tube placement, nephrostomy, PICC line placement and management, and more
- Preferred procedures include adrenal angiography, RFA of the liver, radio embolization, renal artery stent placement, and superior vena cavogram
- Equipment used includes fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and Philips imaging systems
- Epic EMR required
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and are subject to a local rate differential
- Responsibilities include equipment setup, prepping access sites, scrubbing and maintaining sterile fields, room circulation, accurate procedural monitoring, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, and use of vascular closure systems
- Additional duties include inventory management, supply stocking, equipment maintenance, and 3D imaging (preferred)
- Work settings include Interventional Radiology, Special Procedures, and Venous Access
- Isolation precautions/PPE and use of Rapid Response/Code teams are part of the role
- RTO must be submitted at time of application; RTO requests submitted after will not be accepted, and block scheduling cannot be accommodated
- Lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing
- Orientation includes module completion; modules completed within the first 8 hours of orientation are non-billable
- Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
- ARRT (R) required; ACLS, ARRT (VI), and BLS preferred
- Valid state license or certification required — license required if applicable
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency with fluoroscopy, ultrasound, sterile technique, and PACS
- Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, Star Close) preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred; teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- First-time travelers will be considered
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- PA Fingerprints (Childline) required — must be completed within 12 months of start date; results can take up to 2 weeks to process
- Pass/Fail clinical exam required for clearance; candidates have 3 attempts to pass
