SummaryMonitors the overall health of the patient, maintains their records, and provides medicines in a timely manner. Coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other members of the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal clinical and resource outcomes.
Job Duties- Successfully completes orientation.
- Works with case manager to develop and implement discharge plan.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient-hospital or physician-related information.
- Identifies problems that require immediate intervention, initiates appropriate action, and records observations accurately and concisely in the medical record.
- Communicates pertinent patient information at shift report and when leaving unit.
- Participates in staff meetings, patient conferences, and in-services and acts as a resource to nursing units as appropriate.
- Administers medications and immunizations and performs treatments to patients according to established policies and standards.
- Ensures that medical equipment is clean, safe and functioning properly.
- Graduate of accredited Nursing program.
- Less than 1 year Nursing experience or nursing coursework.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Cooperates and maintains good rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, other departments, and visitors.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Skill in monitoring/assessing the performance of self, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania.
- RN - Licensed Registered - State of Pennsylvania.
- Bachelor’s Degree Nursing.
Lift and carry 25 lbs., frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use,
* patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
