Position: Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Dermatology (Monroe)

Job Summary

The Advanced Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) is responsible for providing healthcare services to patients under the supervision of, and/or in collaboration with, the attending physician. These services include, but are not limited to, medical evaluation, treatment, counseling, and referrals. The role involves diagnostic evaluations, therapeutic remediation, surgical assistance, and pharmaceutical prescriptions. The Advanced Practitioner is a patient advocate and participates in patient satisfaction, quality, and performance improvement initiatives.

Schedule

7:00am – 4:00pm

Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient assessment, treatment, counseling, and education for patients and their families.
  • Perform physical examinations, obtain and review medical histories, and interpret diagnostic test results.
  • Develop and implement appropriate patient management and treatment plans based on assessment of needs.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other healthcare professionals and institutions to meet patient care needs.
  • Provide high‑quality health care based on best practice and evidence‑based medicine.
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as allowed by granted clinical privileges.
  • Conduct virtual care services via St.Luke’s virtual care platform, including live interactive assessments, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through educational workshops, publications, professional societies, and continuing medical education.
  • Participate in research, development, implementation, and tracking of clinical management guidelines.
  • Teach multidisciplinary students, physician residents, fellows, and Advanced Practitioner student rotations.
  • Contribute to performance improvement in clinical care, customer service, operational processes, and safety.
  • Utilize electronic medical record for documentation and optimal billing of services.
  • Demonstrate financial responsibility through efficient use of resources.
  • Perform routine health maintenance activities for new and established patients.
  • Coordinate care and counseling with public and mental health agencies when appropriate.
  • Educate patients on wellness habits and prevention of health problems.
  • Provide occupational health services in urgent‑care settings, including pre‑employment physicals, injury care, and work‑comp case follow‑ups.

Education & Qualifications
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Medical Physician Assistant with a current license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
  • Physician Assistants must also hold a current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Experience practicing in Dermatology as an Advanced Practitioner is required.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
  • Sit up to 8 hours per day, 3 hours at a time.
  • Stand up to 8 hours per day.
  • Walk for up to 6 hours per day.
  • Frequently lift, carry and push objects up to 10pounds; rarely lift up to 75pounds.
  • Frequently stoop and bend, reach above shoulder level, and perform firm grasping, twisting, and turning for procedures.
  • Ability to perceive attributes of objects through touch.
  • Auditory ability for normal conversation, high and low frequencies.
  • Visual ability for general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Speech ability for normal conversation, lectures, and presentations.
