Public Safety Officer
As a Public Safety Officer you will be responsible for serving all customers, residents and employees in a courteous, professional manner and to protect the assets of the community and resort. PSO will provide access to Kingsmill for residents and visitors and operate numerous computer applications, databases, and camera systems.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service in greeting guests and residents at entries to Kingsmill by providing directions, verifying access requirements, operating computer access system.
- Monitor the residential and guest lanes at entries to Kingsmill ensuring proper credentials are displayed for entry. Provide proper credentials for those having a valid reason for being on Kingsmill property.
- Take appropriate action and report violations as necessary.
- Review video tapes, access computer and data base systems and write reports as necessary.
- Provide medical assists to residents, guests and employees as needed
- Prepare reports and documentation surrounding incidents which occur at the resort and in the residential community.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and community information obtained
- Observe and report incidents, check resort buildings for security and protection of resort assets, and provide other duties as directed.
- Direct traffic and ensure traffic safety is maintained at the gates and in the resort area.
Skills &
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess high school diploma or equivalent
- Prior law enforcement or security experience preferred
- Ability to understand local, state and federal statutes and apply as needed
- Must be certified or able to certify in AED, CPR and First Aid
- Demonstrated customer services and computer skills
- Exhibit good written and verbal communication skills and ability to write detailed reports
- Must have valid driver's license with 5 or less point and no reckless driving within the past 6 months
- Proven job stability through strong work history
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs following appropriate safety procedures.
- Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner.
- Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (wind, heat, cold, rain, etc.).
- Capable of working extended hours, to include evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed.
- Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities, to include the exchange and receipt of information over the telephone.
- Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day.
- Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.
- Must be able to work in small and confined spaces for extended periods of time.
- Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.

Compensation: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
