The Data Center Tech is responsible for providing high‑quality service in the data center facility to take excellent care of our customers, build relationships, question things, work hard, work smart, and enjoy the experience.

• Installation of telecommunications equipment and associated infrastructure per customer standards.
• Act as a customer contact. Interface with customers and local supervisors to clarify project status.
• Work well within a team and demonstrate some leadership ability.
• Plan and layout installation activities to meet dates and budgeted hours. Oversee other personnel when required.
• Install power, fiber, and switchboard cable, and telecommunications equipment in Data Center and other Telecom facilities. Installers should be familiar with and/or be trained with iron work/bays/equipment rack installation, blueprint/schematic reading.
• Physically place, remove, or modify non‑working equipment.
• Manage cable trays and/or racks.
• Install data equipment cabinets and frames.
• Handle data servers, switches, routers, repeaters, bridges, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, firewalls.
• Support fuse panels.
• Physically route the cables that supply AC and/or DC power or transmit data in various technical spaces.
• Identify, label, and terminate cables that supply AC and/or DC power or transmit data.
• Conduct tests and document performance characteristics of hardware and software.
• Resolve equipment and technical issues.
• Review, analyze, and interpret work orders, drawings, records, and manuals.
• Perform quality validation on in‑process and completed work.
• Interact with all members of the organization; installation, engineering, and project management.
• Perform other duties as requested by Manager.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or college degree preferred.
• One year of experience.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs and applications.
• Proficient in the use of IOS and/or Android applications.
• Ability to troubleshoot cabling issues as well as resolve problems.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues as well as resolve problems.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Good customer service skills.
• Good computer soft skills required.
