Approximately 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on school days and approximately 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on non‑school days.
Duties- Use power equipment and hand tools such as broom, mop, squeegee, buffer, polisher, and vacuum for cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, and making minor repairs to building and equipment.
- Clean and sanitize toilets and fixtures.
- Empty wastebaskets, trash containers; clean chalkboards, chalk trays and erasers; dust furniture; sweep, mop and polish floors; remove door mats.
- Set up and remove furniture for special events.
- Replace light bulbs, tissue, and other restroom supplies; may issue linen and bedding.
- Close building each evening; help maintain building security by checking for unlocked doors and windows and unauthorized occupants.
- Wash windows and mirrors.
- Clean sidewalks and driveways; rake leaves, mow grass, and help maintain campus grounds and perform snow removal.
- Read and interpret written instructions, service orders and labels on chemicals and supplies.
- Perform other duties as required by individual building principal.
- Maintain sprinkler/irrigation system.
- Paint and perform small repairs.
- Work with evening groups utilizing the facility.
- Demonstrate flexibility, initiative, a self‑starter attitude, and teamwork.
- Be available for day shift during the school year and during summer months.
- Support and implement Eastmont School District policies, regulations, procedures and administrative directives; demonstrate loyalty to the District and other administrators.
- Submit records, reports and assignments promptly and efficiently.
- Handle obstacles and constraints positively.
- Utilize new approaches in performance of duties.
- Multi‑task in an environment with constant interruptions.
- Seek opportunities for professional growth.
- Promote good staff morale and work harmoniously with fellow staff.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license.
- Prior custodial experience required.
- Knowledge of efficient custodial practices, including care and use of equipment; cleaning, minor maintenance and care of grounds.
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of efficiency and attention to detail; self‑starter.
- Must be able to work well with children.
- Knowledge of heating, ventilation, sanitation and care of school buildings.
- Knowledge of inventorying, ordering and storing all types of supplies.
- Knowledge of floor refinishing and carpet care.
- Effective oral and written communication in English.
- Proficient use of computer to complete work requests and other work‑related functions.
- Establish and maintain working relationships that foster efficiency, productivity and cooperation with administrators, fellow employees, students, faculty and the public.
- Maintain neat, clean personal appearance.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality mandatory.
- Regular walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing, pulling.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Successful clearance of FBI and Washington State Patrol fingerprint background check.
- Successful Washington State Sexual Misconduct clearance.
- Completion of federal I‑9 form.
- Maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and regular work hours.
- Comply with all District policies and operational procedures.
- Comply with the Code of Professional Conduct.
- Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
- Maintain certification at all times.
- Complete Eastmont School District’s Safe Schools training online.
