Assist customers with exceptional service, maintain a safe and clean environment, and demonstrate respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety values.

• Be visible, greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the POS system.
• Handle various tender types (cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP, WIC, etc.) and complex loyalty offers, within company policy.
• Adhere to cash shortage/overage limits and loss control.
• Follow restricted sale item guidelines (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with seasonal and special ads.
• Follow all food safety regulations.
• Enforce safety programs, identify hazards, and report issues to management.
• Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and report needed repairs.
• Answer product questions and create a welcoming environment for all customers.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a non‑confrontational, cooperative manner.
• Act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Provide support for minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

• Customer service experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).

• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.
