Overview
Job Summary
:
Operates and tends all types of production machines such as several different types of punch presses and feed systems, cut-off saws, deburring machines to produce production parts of various metals including steel, aluminum, copper and other resistive materials, as well as one non-metallic material.
- At completion of set-up, run an appropriate sample and ensure inspection is performed as required by the appropriate specification.
- Run products as assigned.
- Operator manual feed presses and/or RH lines if assigned per appropriate specification.
- Set up stamping line per specifications and ensure all raw materials are present and correct.
- Advise die makers of the set-up required for the product you will be running when appropriate.
- Load coil stock material onto de-reeler and start coil stock into dies at proper place to ensure proper tool care.
- Use machine tools to include lathe, high-speed punch press, cut-off saws, and deburring equipment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with punch presses, pressroom terminology, equipment & processes
- Must be able to accurately identify different types of raw materials
- Must be able to compute material and finished product counts using basic math skills and a calculator
