Position: Professional Development & Infection Control Nurse (RN)

Professional Development & Infection Control Nurse (RN)

iCare Health Network is seeking a dynamic and experienced Professional Development & Infection Control Nurse (RN) to join our Fresh River Healthcare team.

Full Time – Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality in-service education programs for staff, as required in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate the impact of in-service programs and amend as required based on outcomes.
  • Spend a majority of time on the nursing units to evaluate and correct nursing care as needed.
  • Ensure facility compliance with current CDC, OSHA, state and federal regulations.
  • Coach employees on proper nursing practices and procedures.
  • Make house rounds regularly throughout the shift and consult with the RN Supervisor and Charge Nurses on education needs.
  • Ensure educational programs are current and align with government regulations, company policies, mission and goals.
  • Provide an appropriate climate for learning and facilitate the adult learning process.
  • Assist adult learners in identifying their learning needs and the effective learning activities required to meet clinical needs.
  • Respond to clinical emergencies, regulatory agency visits, surveys and issues outside normal work hours; participate in on‑call rotation for clinical emergencies and other clinical/facility issues.
  • Assist the DNS in ongoing training of nursing staff to support clinical services and exceed established competency levels; monitor and assist in training specialty unit personnel to maintain active competencies or certifications required for the specific unit.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of increased responsibility in a supervisory position in long‑term care and/or rehabilitation facility or hospital setting, or an equivalent nursing education degree program.
  • Six months of training experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices preferred.
  • IV certification required.
  • Infection Control certification preferred.
  • Experience with state survey process, survey tag numbers, and quality measures preferred.
  • Valid RN licensure.
