QA Technician
Our client has both New Product Development for new technology products AND of their legacy niche products that the company was founded on sixty (60) years ago. This is an opportunity to join an established small company with a track record of patents, new developments and success.
SummaryThe Quality Technician will provide quality assurance support and oversight to the Production and Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Software) Teams, resolving nonconformances, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring that products meet all stated company and customer specifications. The Quality Technician will serve as a champion for continuous improvement.
Duties/Responsibilities- Reviews design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and quality manuals to understand the scope, requirements, and function of products. Generates new documentation, as necessary.
- Ensure products meet the organizations and customers' quality and product integrity requirements.
- Supports product development or operations team by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process.
- Identifies root causes of problems in the production process; working in conjunction with the engineering department, recommends and/or implements corrective measures.
- Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
- Perform incoming inspections on purchased assemblies and individual components to meet specified quality, quantity, and internal documentation requirements upon arrival. Often using sampling plans associated with ISO 2859-1/AQL.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and circuit schematics.
- Minimum five years of experience in overseeing the quality of electromechanical assembly operations.
- Working knowledge of electrical measurement tools such as Digital Multimeter (DMM), Oscilloscope, and Hi-pot Tester.
- Working knowledge of mechanical measurement tools such as Digital Calipers, Micrometers, Torque Wrenches/Drivers, Height Gauge, etc.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-160 standards is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Extensive knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the organization's production processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
